[Class 5 (ii)] To facilitate examination of a beehive the front wall 4 is formed as a fixture between stationary uprights 5, 6, to which the side walls 8, 9, are hinged the back wall 10 being hinged to the side 9. The floor 1 is raised in legs 2 and extended to form an alighting board 3. A gabled roof 16 has a square frame on its underside to fit over the top edges of the walls of the hive and maintain them closed, ventilation apertures 18 being provided in the frame. Draught excluding strips 19 of brass depend from the walls over the edges of the floor. The brood chamber 20 and frame 21 may be furnished with glass panels 23, 24.
