Each hive is fed from a single enclosed box-like feeder which replaces part of the comb foundation and is float controlled. A valve operated by the float assures a supply of food or water keyed to actual consumption. The float and valve are completely isolated from contact with the bees by the use of a separate feeding chamber to prevent interference with the valve action by the bees.
