The apparatus includes: a frame-spanning member; a stem pivotally attachable to the frame-spanning member; a holder for retaining the pheromone containing package, the holder connected to the stem, the holder comprising a face configured to expose a pheromone permeable surface of the pheromone containing package to a space between the frames; and an angle assembly connected to a proximal portion of the stem, the angle assembly comprising opposing first and second fulcrum points configured to pivot the holder toward a first frame as the frames are moved closer together, whereby the face of the holder orients toward the center of the space between the frames and away from the first frame.
