METHOD FOR EXERCISING UPPER LEG AND BUTTOCKS WHILE PROTECTING ANKLE AND KNEE JOINTS AND APPARATUS THEREOF

The present invention provides an exercise apparatus in which, to minimize load or stress applied to the knee and ankle joints when performing an exercise suitable for an exercise, such as leg press, total-hip, an indoor bicycle, and an outdoor bicycle, suitable for thigh and gluteal exercises, a user moves the legs while putting the thigh on the lower end of the arm in a sitting or lying posture, to exercise the upper leg and the buttocks while protecting the ankle and knee joint. To this end, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the exercise apparatus comprises: a seating unit to enable a user to sit or lie thereon; an arm attached to the position of the user prime;s hip joint on a sagittal plane to be rotatable; and a structure in which one end of the arm is hung on the user prime;s thigh to be rotatable. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the exercise apparatus includes various resistant bodies generating a resistant force to rotation of the arm unit and a device enabling the user to change a rotary shaft. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the exercise apparatus includes two different rotary shafts disposed on one arm. Additionally, the exercise apparatus of the embodiment of the present invention is formed in a bicycle shape, such that the rotary shaft of the arm is placed at a hip joint portion and one end of the arm is hung to the back of the thigh. Moreover, the exercise apparatus is rotated during rotation in a clockwise direction and is idled during rotation in an anticlockwise direction in accordance with the rotation of the arm unit (32), such that a rear wheel is rotated, and thus a bicycle is propelled.
