The extinction of the flame of the oil burner O by the wind, or by the explosion which takes place upon the ignition of the gas, is prevented by a flame-protecting sleeve C, which opens into the ignition chamber B, to which the gas passes through a perforated plate A. Two rows of ventilating-holes D are formed in the upper end of the chamber B.
