12,523. Boult, A. J., [Piquera, J. M.]. June 2. Tyres, pneumatic &c.-The mould for forming and expanding the covers of pneumatic tyres is in the shape of a wheel of adjustable diameter. The rim is in six segments a, Figs. 1 and 4, attached by lazy-tongs mechanism to two nuts c working on a right and left screwed axle supported in a bearing as shown. The segments are guided by pieces h working in recesses i, and are fitted with a set of interchangeable forms, one of which, in two overlapping parts, is shown in the Figure; this kind is ueed as a mould for making the cover, and has flanges for receiving the wires. Those used in finishing expanding covers are of U -section without flanges. The forms are adjusted in position by forks j fitting over set-screws k carried by the rim.
