The invention relates to the production of a high resistance composite panel formed from two end sheets of aluminium or galvanised stainless steel and a core also of aluminium or galvanised stainless steel, with a structure that makes the panel much more economical than conventional panels having a honeycomb core and which, furthermore, permits the continuous production thereof, allowing the product to be cut to different measurements using a single installation, thereby optimising efficiency. The panel obtained has a core (5) with an embossed structure, there being defined a matrix of elements distributed in a staggered manner and having an essentially frustoconical configuration, with a slightly curved generatrix, ensuring high resistance in all directions, unlike with more economical existing panels which have a core with a wavy profile and do not support determined horizontal stresses well.
