The invention belongs to the technical field of curing of flue-cured tobacco, and particularly relates to a flue-cured tobacco leaf primary curing process for reserving a processing space for the cigarette industry. The primary curing process comprises a tobacco leaf yellowing period, a tobacco leaf withering period, a tobacco leaf color fixing period and a tobacco leaf stem drying period. In the primary curing process of the flue-cured tobacco leaves, the principle that macromolecular compounds are partially decomposed and aroma substances are partially synthesized is adopted, the primary curing maturity of the flue-cured tobacco leaves is properly reduced, the primary curing tobacco leaves have the material basis of high-strength processing in the cigarette industry, and a processing space is reserved for the re-curing, alcoholization and cut tobacco making processes. Under the high industrial processing intensity, the primarily-cured tobacco leaves generate and accumulate more types and quantity of intermediate products separated from macromolecular substances, richer flue-cured tobacco aroma characteristics are formed, and the sensory quality of the flue-cured tobacco leaves is improved.
