A negative ion false proofing tobacco coated seed is characterized in that the particle size of a seed wrapped with a routine seed coating agent layer reaches 1.4-1.6 mm, and the particle size of the coated seed with the outermost layer wrapped with negative ion powder reaches 1.6-1.8 mm, wherein a weight ratio of the added negative ion powder to the seed coating agent needed by coating is 1:(100-300). A preparation method of the above seed comprises the following steps: 1, placing a seed in a coating machine, uniformly sprinkling a binder on the seed, uniformly stirring the seed and the binder, and adding the routine seed coating agent to the wet seed to wrap the surface of the seed in order to make the particle size reach 1.4-1.6 mm; and 2, wrapping the external layer of the coated seed with the negative ion powder according to the weight ratio of the added negative ion powder to the seed coating agent needed by coating of 1:(100-300), and screening out the coated seed with the particle size of 1.6-1.8 mm to produce the product. The seed has a stable negative ion release amount, a detector can detect the truth or the falseness of the seed in a non-contact and packaging isolation manner without damaging the finished seed; negative ion powder with different contents releases different negative ions, and can be used for marking the seed batch; and the negative ion powder contained in the coated seed has no damages to the seed, and has low cost.
