The invention discloses a flue-cured tobacco irrigation method based on soil water potential monitoring. The method comprises the steps that soil water potential of flue-cured tobacco planting land ismeasured and used as an irrigation index, the maximum water-holding capacity of field keeps to be 43-48%, the flue-cured tobacco irrigation wetting depth keeps to be 30-40 cm, and flue-cured tobaccois irrigated through drop irrigation, wherein the method comprises the specific steps that 1, in the resettling stage, the number of irrigation times is set to be 3-5, when the soil water potential reaches -30--20 Kpa, irrigation is started, and when the soil water potential reaches -11--1 Kpa or above, irrigation is stopped; 2, in the vigorous growth stage, the number of irrigation times is set to be 7-9, when the soil water potential reaches -20--10 Kpa, irrigation is started, and when the soil water potential reaches -11--1 Kpa or above, irrigation is stopped; 3, in the mature stage, the number of irrigation times is set to be 5-7, when the soil water potential reaches -25--15 Kpa, irrigation is started, and when the soil water potential reaches -11--1 Kpa or above, irrigation is stopped. By means of the flue-cured tobacco irrigation method, irrigation water is effectively saved, the irrigation water utilization efficiency is improved, the tobacco field irrigation cost is effectively reduced, the tobacco leaf output is improved, and the economic benefits are improved.
