The invention discloses an application of a lotus leaf extract in reducing the content of nitrosamine in tobacco, and belongs to the technical field of tobacco agriculture. The invention relates to an application of a lotus leaf extract in reducing the content of nitrosamine in tobacco. Functional components for reducing the content of nitrosamine in tobacco in the lotus leaf extract comprise at least one of quercetin-3-O-glucoside, hyperoside and isoquercitrin. The invention provides an application of a lotus leaf extract in reducing the content of nitrosamine in tobacco, and successfully identifies that functional components for reducing the content of nitrosamine in tobacco in the lotus leaf extract are quercetin-3-O-glucoside, hyperoside and isoquercitrin. The lotus leaf extract has a remarkable effect of reducing the content of nitrosamine in tobacco, the content of TSNAs in tobacco leaves can be reduced by 10%-60% when the lotus leaf extract is applied to a field, and the quality of the tobacco leaves is improved.
