Fuente: WIPO "tomato" Water-soluble films comprising: a film-forming resin; and optionally, a plasticizer; wherein: the film-forming resin comprises a mixture of a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) and a biopolymer (or natural polymer); the PVOH is present in an amount up to about 40 wt.%, based on the total weight of the film-forming resin; and the biopolymer is present in an amount of at least about 60 wt.%, based on the total weight of the film-forming resin; with the provisos that: (a) when the biopolymer comprises pullulan, pullulan is not the sole biopolymer in the film; and (b) when the biopolymer comprises starch, starch is not the sole biopolymer in the film. Multiple combinations of biopolymers are contemplated.
