Fecha de publicación: -- Fuente: WIPO "tomato" A biodegradable plastic chain is disclosed, comprising a polymer blend in which the major component is sourced from plant-derived monomers and/or polymers, including polylactic acid, polybutylene succinate, or polycaprolactone. The chain is formed into interlocking links and may include additives such as ultraviolet stabilizers, antioxidants, compatibilizers, plasticizers, and nucleating agents to enhance durability and environmental stability. The chain exhibits good mechanical strength and maintains structural integrity for several months under standard use conditions. It is designed for controlled biodegradation in industrial composting, soil burial, or marine environments, decomposing at least 30 percent within 180 days under industrial composting conditions. Methods of manufacturing and using the biodegradable chain are also disclosed.
