Also disclosed is RosB from Aspergillus fresenii, a gene involved in the production of a new cyclic IDT derived from 14,15-epoxy-3´-GGI; roseyrin. Further disclosed are isolated genes from the Aspergillus muricatus, that mediate the production of 14,15- epoxy-3´-GGI and petromindole. Methods of making and use are provided.
