PROCESS FOR LOW-ENERGY NANOEMULSIFICATION AND COMPOSITIONS SUITABLE FOR ORAL AND TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY

Fuente: WIPO "olive oil"
A process is disclosed for producing nanoemulsions of oil without high-energy shear force. A first or bicontinuous phase comprises one or more polyols such as glycerin but little or no water. The surfactant system comprises a fatty acid such as oleic acid neutralized to supply its corresponding fatty acid salt. Compositions prepared according to the process may incorporate a wide variety of actives such as pharmaceutical, cosmetic, industrial, household, or psychoactive. Nanoemulsions produced according to the invention have particle sizes well under 500 nm, excellent stability after quenching with water, and ability to transfer actives transdermally.
