This research examines the diffusion of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Brazil, comparing them to those in the United States. The research focuses on the importance of this innovation in the context of technological and market evolution, highlighting environmental and energy issues. This study uses a comparative case study approach, analyzing socioeconomic and structural aspects of both countries, as well as relevant variables. The data are validated through a questionnaire answered by experts from the automotive industry. The innovation diffusion model developed by Everett Rogers is applied to the data, allowing the identification of differences in the stages of diffusion between the two countries. The results show that Brazil needs to strengthen socioeconomic and structural factors to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and become a significant player in this market, highlighting the differences between the two countries.
