Fuente: WIPO "biotechnology" CORE promoter sequences were identified that respond to activation by CONSTANS or CONSTANS-like (COL) proteins and which can be used to regulate gene expression in response to those proteins. These promoters may be used to produce transgenic plants that have an altered trait relative to control plants, particularly in response to floral cues during or after flowering stages.. Any of these CORE promoters may be incorporated into a nucleic acid construct to regulate the expression of a polynucleotide that encodes a polypeptide that, when ectopically expressed, confers a desired or improved trait in plants.
