Natural resources have been a useful source for medicinal products since ancient times. Many useful drugs developed from plant sources. In this study, natural constituent Clove oil and the aqueous extracts of Papaya, Amla, Giloy, Black Pepper and Tulsi were used to develop the polyherbal dispersible tablet for boosting immunity to face various infectious diseases. In context to this, polyherbal dispersible tablet was prepared using clove oil and aqueous extracts of plants viz. Papaya, Amla, Giloy, Black Pepper and Tulsi with the help of disintegrant and binder. Technological evaluation such as weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration was carried out. Protein denaturation method was used to study the anti-inflammatory effect of the developed formulation. Immuno-modulatory activity of developed formulation was determined using phagocytosis of C. Albicans assay. Micromeritics of extract powders were determined for formulation, which signifying good flow properties. Disintegration time was observed for formulation in which the polyherbal formulation-1 (PHF-1) showed 1.12±0.17 min. An anti-inflammatory effect was shown using an in-vitro protein denaturation assay (at 5 mg/ml = 53.84 as well as at 10 mg/ml = 61.53), as compared to ibuprofen's % inhibition (at 2 mg/ml = 80.76). When C. Albicans was used as a test subject for in-vitro immunomodulatory action, it was discovered that the formulation, at concentration of 5 mg/ml & 10 mg/ml, respectively, showed 50 & 30 phagocytosis indexes, as opposed to a control value of 70. Conclusively, batch PHF-1 tablets showed the good disintegration properties and considered as the best batch which showed the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory potential.
