The global vision of the SUSMILK project involves redesigning the dairy industry in three key processing areas, heating, refrigeration, and pretreatment, reducing, and in some cases eliminating, energy and transport costs with the aim of creating a more sustainable milk processing industry. The project also concentrates on closing the circle in terms of waste treatment.

Among the activities scheduled in the Special Course at the University of Zaragoza "Renewable energy, electricity and hydrogen: present and future of energy in rural areas and agricultural machinery" on Friday 1st July was held roundtable "The sustainability as a driver of innovation in Europe" in which representatives of LIFE projects: REWIND, Factory Microred, Integral Carbon, Zero Residues, Fresh Box, Vineyards4Heat and Multibiosol exposed for 15-20 min the most important lines and progress of their projects taking then place a discussion among participants.

On June 17, 2016 took place in the assembly hall of the building Ramón Camacho of Universidad de Extremadura in Badajoz, the Information Day on the LIFE program of the European Union, organized by the Service Management and Transfer of Research Results (SGTRI) of the University of Extremadura, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Science and Technology and the Directorate General of Foreign Action of the Junta de Extremadura, with the Enterprise European Network (EEN) of FUNDECYT / Park Scientific and Technological and Extremadura Avante.

The Sixth International Congress of Vigo played host this year to a variety of initiatives, including the LIFE + Integral Carbon Project.
