Ferrero Australia has marked local sustainability milestones by reducing water usage by more than 30% this financial year and completing the second phase of the Lithgow factory’s solar project.

At its factory, the company has set itself global sustainability commitments that are minimising waste to landfill, improving resource efficiency and increasing its use of renewable energy.

“Lithgow’s solar project is an important part of our energy transition journey in Australia. Currently, solar provides 15–20% of Lithgow’s total electricity needs, and we’re looking forward to exploring the next phase of our solar project,” said Derek Lath, Institutional Affairs Director of Ferrero Australia.

The achievements were celebrated while also launching the ‘Nutella loves Aussie recipes’ collection. The collection comprises recipes inspired by ingredients from unique landscapes in Australia, with themed jars from the Great Barrier Reef, to the Barossa, Bondi Beach and Cradle Mountain.
