Beer recall due to secondary fermentation

The NSW Food Authority has advised that Ballistic Beer Co. is conducting a recall of its 375 mL Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale, Hawaiian Haze IPA and Reef Pale Ale products, due to secondary fermentation. The food safety hazard stated that food products containing excess alcohol and carbonation may cause illness/injury if consumed.

According to the NSW Food Authority, consumers should not drink or open this product and should dispose of it safely. Consumers should contact Ballistic Beer Co. for safe disposal instructions and to arrange for reimbursement.

Hawaiian Haze IPA 375mL: available as single cans, 4 pack or carton of 16. Best Before dates: BB151222.
Reef Pale Ale 375mL: ​​​​​​​available as single cans, 4 pack or carton of 24. Best Before dates: BB040223.


The products have been available for sale at Liquorland in NSW and Qld; Vintage Cellars in NSW, ACT, Vic, Qld, NT and Tas; independent liquor retailers in NSW, Qld, SA and Vic; and First Choice, Dan Murphy’s and BWS nationally.
