The method controls a display device to display a graphical user interface (GUI) that identifies sustainability parameters and presents weight settings for the sustainability parameters. The method receives a second input from the user adjusting the weight setting associated with at least one of the sustainability parameters to provide user-adjusted weight settings. The method accesses multiple data sources to generate scores for at least some of the sustainability parameters, and generates a sustainability value for the chemical based on the scores that are generated and the user-adjusted weight settings. The method controls the display device to display the sustainability value on the GUI.
