The trolley (102) includes a housing (106) with an internal compartment (108) and a door (110) that provides selective access to the internal compartment. The door is movable between a closed position and an unclosed position. The trolley also includes a control sensor (116) that configured to detect at least one characteristic of the trolley and a visual indicator (122) configured to emit a visual transmission based on the at least one detected characteristic. A trolley node (104) having a controller may be included with the trolley and may be communicatively coupled to the control sensor and the visual indicator.
