The invention relates to a device and a method for collecting and preventing varroa mites in a swarm. The device comprises a bee entering device, a bee collecting box, a bee mite collecting box and a powder recycling bin, wherein an inlet in the top part of the bee collecting box is opposite to and matched with a bee outlet; a first sieve is arranged on the bottom part of the bee collecting box; a second sieve is arranged on the bottom part of the bee mite collecting box. The method comprises the following steps of shaking worker bees into the bee entering device, and shaking bees into the bee collecting box; after the bees enter into the bee collecting box, removing the bee entering device, scattering corn flour or powdered sugar, and sealing by a sealed cover; shaking the bee collecting box so as to enable the varroa mites and the corn flour or the powdered sugar to fall into the bee mite collecting box; sieving the corn flour or the powdered sugar into the powder recycling bin. The device for collecting and preventing the varroa mites in the swarm provided by the invention can be used for conveniently and quickly collecting bee mites parasitized on the worker bees in the swarm. By adopting the method for collecting and preventing the varroa mites in the swarm provided by the invention, the application of chemical acaricides can be reduced, so that the toxicity on the bees is effectively reduced and drug residues in bee products are reduced.
