The invention discloses an olive-shaped flow meter optimization design method based on a Taguchi method. The method comprises the following steps: (1) selecting a throttling element structure of an olive-shaped flow meter as an optimization object; (2) determining four factors with maximum output response and influence, determining a level range according to the factors and uniformly selecting five level numbers; (3) designing an orthogonal test table by utilizing Minitab; (4) respectively establishing corresponding models according to the orthogonal test table; (5) respectively carrying out numerical simulation experiments on the models; (6) carrying out signal-to-noise ratio analysis and variance analysis on an experimental result; and (7) comparing data before and after optimization, and confirming an optimization result. According to the method, the optimal structure can be found more efficiently, and compared with a traditional method, the simulation test time can be greatly shortened. Compared with the prior art, the optimized flow meter has the advantages that the pressure loss rate is lower, the flow resistance is smaller when fluid flows through the flow meter, and therefore energy consumption is reduced.
